Scripture – Jeremiah 1:4-5

4 Now the word of the Lord came to me saying,

5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,

and before you were born I consecrated you;

I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

Prayer Focus: Our preaching text for Sunday is Jeremiah 1:4-10 as we look at a second individual transformed by an encounter with God. The word of the Lord comes to Jeremiah and connects the past (before I formed you) with the future (I appointed you a prophet). We stand in a moment between the past and the future. God is present in both and is moving in both to draw us toward a transforming future story. As you enter this week, pray that you might be prepared to both remember and to dream, to celebrate and to anticipate, to give thanks and to be transformed.
