Scripture – 1 Peter 2:4-6

4 Come to him, a living stone, though rejected by mortals yet chosen and precious in God’s sight, and

5 like living stones let yourselves be built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

6 For it stands in scripture:
“See, I am laying in Zion a stone,
    a cornerstone chosen and precious,
and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”

Prayer Focus: We tend to be more familiar with the image of the church as the body of Christ as opposed to a spiritual house. Just as a house is not built from a single brick, the church is built of many living stones. What kind of stone are you? How are you related to the cornerstone placed by the Lord to give direction for all the other stones? In your prayers, remember and give thanks that God has crafted a living stone just like you for the spiritual house of the church.
