6 And he believed the Lord, and the Lord reckoned it to him as righteousness.
Prayer Focus: Abram believed the Lord. I don’t think this was just an intellectual “yes;” after being overwhelmed by the stars in the sky it feels more like an emotional trust. If the one who hung all those stars in the sky has promised you a descendant, that promise can be trusted. And even that was reckoned to Abram as righteousness by the Lord. It was not necessarily a righteous act in and of itself; it was not as if Abram himself was completely righteous. No, the Lord decided to count it as righteous. Pray that you might have enough faith to believe God’s promise and trust that it is enough for the Lord to reckon you are righteous too.
