Scripture – 1 Corinthians 1:14-16

14 I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius,

15 so that no one can say that you were baptized in my name.

16 I did baptize also the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized anyone else.   

Prayer Focus: A few weeks ago, in my sermon on John the Baptist, I remembered with you some of those whom I had baptized. In these verses Paul says he baptized Crispus and Gaius, but that’s all. Oh, and I did baptize the household of Stephanus, but I can’t remember anyone beyond that. Maybe Paul needs to go back and review his record book before writing this letter! Or maybe not because it seems that the Corinthians are dividing into various camps based on who baptized them. As I said in that sermon a couple weeks ago, it’s not about John the Baptist. It’s all about Jesus. Pray that you might remember today that it’s all about Jesus.
