Scripture – Ephesians 1:1

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God,

To the saints who are in Ephesus and are faithful in Christ Jesus:

Prayer Focus: This week we turn to the first chapter of Paul’s letter to the saints who are in Ephesus. In the same way that we get an email today with the sender identified first, that is what we find in this ancient letter. “Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God.” Paul, sent on behalf of Christ Jesus not of his own accord, not because he volunteered, but by the will of God. As we read through the rest of this chapter, notice the prominent role played by “the will of God.” Pray that you might know the will of God for you today and recognize that part of that will is that you are sent on behalf of Christ Jesus to bear good news.
