Scripture – Philippians 3:6-7:
6 as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to righteousness under the law, blameless.
7 Yet whatever gains I had, these I have come to regard as loss because of Christ.
Prayer Focus: Paul is personal and honest about his past with the Philippians. He does not renounce his past, but as he shares it, he calls it a loss because he no longer allows it to define him. Rather Paul is now defined by God’s love in Christ that he has experienced firsthand. I wonder what we have let define our lives up to this point in our lives? What kind of encounter with God would it take for us to allow ourselves to count everything else as a loss? Pray today that you might allow God’s transforming love through Jesus Christ to define your life.
