Scripture – 1 Corinthians 12: 12-13 (CEV)

12 The body of Christ has many different parts, just as any other body does.

13 Some of us are Jews, and others are Gentiles. Some of us are slaves, and others are free. But God’s Spirit baptized each of us and made us part of the body of Christ. Now we each drink from that same Spirit.

Prayer Focus: We could add to Paul’s words above, “Some of us are old and some of us are young. Some of us are male and some of us are female. Some of us are able bodied and some of us are disabled.” What else would you add? Yet, notice that verse 13 says that, “God’s Spirit baptized each of us and made us part of the body of Christ. Now we each drink from that same Spirit.” None of us is more important in God’s kingdom than another. We are all made one through baptism and are all an important part of the body of Christ. Pray that you will see others this week as loved and welcomed by God, no matter who they are.
