Scripture – Jeremiah 32:1

1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord in the tenth year of King Zedekiah of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar.   

Prayer Focus: We begin to shift this week away from explicit services and preaching centered on Unity’s “We Love” Annual Vision of Ministry, to texts suggested by the Revised Common Lectionary (a three-year cycle of suggested texts for use in worship). We join the prophet Jeremiah as he hears a word from the Lord in a particular time and place, a particular political season. In this particular political season in the United States, what is the word from the Lord God is sending to us in Fort Mill, SC (or wherever you are as you read this devotion). Try to find one person outside your family today and ask them that question. Not to begin an argument, but to see if you can open your heart and your mind to hear God’s word to you today. Pray for a willing and open heart and mind in this time and place.
