Scripture – Jeremiah 32:2-3a

2 At that time the army of the king of Babylon was besieging Jerusalem, and the prophet Jeremiah was confined in the court of the guard that was in the palace of the king of Judah,

3a where King Zedekiah of Judah had confined him.

Prayer Focus: The particular time and place in which Jeremiah hears the word of the Lord was a time of war. The Babylonian army was besieging Jerusalem and Jeremiah was under house arrest because he had spoken a word that Judah’s King Zedekiah had not wanted to hear. God’s word is not always easily received, especially by those in power and authority. God’s word sometimes brings corrections that none of us are ready to hear. Pray that you might open your heart and mind to hear even a difficult word from the Lord today.
