Wednesday, July 30th: Scripture – Hosea 11:3-4

3 Yet it was I who taught Ephraim to walk;
    I took them up in my arms,
    but they did not know that I healed them.

4 I led them with cords of human kindness,
    with bands of love.
I was to them like those
    who lift infants to their cheeks.
    I bent down to them and fed them.

Prayer Focus: God’s love for God’s people is long-standing, faithful, and consistent. What an intimate picture the prophet shares here in these verses. Teaching Ephraim to walk, taking them up in arms, snuggling an infant, bending down to feed them. In the first letter of John we hear, “see how much the Father loves us, that we might be called children of God – and that is what we are!” Can you imagine how great God’s love for you is? Can you imagine how much God loves even those who run away? Pray for all who run from this love today.
