Scripture – Matthew 20:3-5

3 When he went out about nine o’clock, he saw others standing idle in the marketplace, 4 and he said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.’ So they went. 5 When he went out again about noon and about three o’clock, he did the same.

Prayer Focus: The landowner goes back to the marketplace. The parable does not say why he went back to the marketplace, but he seems to be moved by seeing other laborers standing idle. They were not hired in the morning but remain in the marketplace. The same thing happens at noon and at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. To all of them the landowner says, “go to the vineyard and I will pay you whatever is right.” If we think this landowner might represent God, give thanks that God continues to seek workers for the vineyard. There appears to be enough work for everyone the Lord finds.
