Scripture – Matthew 20:6-7

6 And about five o’clock he went out and found others standing around, and he said to them, ‘Why are you standing here idle all day?’ 7 They said to him, ‘Because no one has hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard.’

Prayer Focus: Once more, now at five o’clock, the landowner returns to the marketplace and sees others standing around. He asks why they have been standing idle all day and learns that no one has hired them. There is no indication that these workers still in the marketplace are lazy or that they were unwilling to do a difficult job or task. And by this point, these workers must be worried about going home empty handed, unable to feed their families tonight. The landowner does not promise them any kind of wage, just says, “You also go into the vineyard.” And they go. Pray for those who worry about feeding their families today. Pray that even where there appears to be no way, that the Lord will make a way.
