Tuesday, January 18: Scripture – 1 Corinthians 12:13
13 For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
Prayer Focus: We were all baptized into one body. I had a professor who suggested that we should stop baptizing individuals if we ever said we were baptizing them into the Presbyterian Church or into our local congregation. Instead, he insisted, with this verse from the apostle Paul, that we are all baptized into one body: the body of Christ. We spend so much time talking about what divides churches and denominations. Pray today for eyes to see what unites us in the one Spirit.
