2 But Abram said, “O Lord God, what will you give me, for I continue childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” 3 And Abram said, “You have given me no offspring, so a slave born in my house is to be my heir.”  

Prayer Focus: Abram responds to God’s new promise that his reward shall be very great, with an accounting of his current situation. God promised descendants and blessing, but Abram has no offspring. Do you have enough faith and trust to share your disappointments and greatest longing with God? Have you ever said, “How long, O Lord?” As you pray, lift up to the Lord your longings for yourself; for those you love; for our community, nation and world.
