17 How does God’s love abide in anyone who has the world’s goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help? 18 Little children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth.

Prayer Focus: Laying down one’s life for a brother or sister seems fairly unlikely for most of us. However, seeing a brother or sister in need is a daily occurrence. How do we decide who is worthy of our help? What if the one we help misuses our gift? Pray today that you might change the question to: How can I share the love of God today? When an opportunity presents itself, do not hesitate. Share the love. Love in truth and action. Put the needs of others above your own. Pray that you might love with God’s love, in truth and action, today.
