5 Simon answered, “Master, we have worked all night long but have caught nothing. Yet if you say so, I will let down the nets.”
6 When they had done this, they caught so many fish that their nets were beginning to break.
Prayer Focus: Simon is not thrilled with this idea of putting down the nets again in the deep water. He’s tried that before – in fact he and the other fishermen have worked all night. They are tired. They caught nothing. When Jesus first sat down in his boat, Simon had been finishing up for the day, washing out the nets. But despite his objections, Simon follows the Lord’s commands. Can you overcome your objection to making a deeper connection with Jesus or your neighbors today? Even if your yes is just an, “if you say so,” that is enough. Put your nets into the deep and pray for the catch that is waiting.
