Scripture – 2 Thessalonians 1:4

4 Therefore we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your steadfastness and faith during all your persecutions and the afflictions that you are enduring.

Prayer Focus: We’ve often heard that boasting is not an encouraged Christian practice. And yet, sometimes there are things and people worth celebrating. Perhaps you’ve heard the phrase a former Moderator of the PCUSA, Marj Carpenter, often used to say, “I’m sinfully proud to be a Presbyterian.” It is good and right to celebrate, and even boast, when we see examples of faith and faithfulness. What are you “sinfully proud” of today about your church? As you pray, confess and celebrate today.
