7 Philip answered him, “Six months’ wages would not buy enough bread for each of them to get a little.”
8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him,
9 “There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish. But what are they among so many people?”
Prayer Focus: What are you eating for lunch today? If you are reading this devotion in the morning, do you have lunch plans? If you read these devotions in the evening, did you enjoy your lunch? The boy had brought his lunch with him. He brought common, ordinary food: barley loaves and fish. Think of this lunch as first-century PB&J. Can you feed 5000 people with a couple of PB&J sandwiches? Jesus can. Pray that you might identify the ordinary things that you have and watch to see what Jesus will do.
