Scripture – Matthew 21:6-7

6 The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them; 7 they brought the donkey and the colt and put their cloaks on them, and he sat on them.

Prayer Focus: This is one of the places that I have always been puzzled in Matthew’s account of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. They brought the donkey and the colt… and Jesus sat “on them.” Jesus sat on both the donkey and the colt? On both at the same time or did he take turns? Commentators have suggested both as possibilities. They also make the donkey and colt allegories for the people of Israel and the Gentiles. It is a puzzle for modern readers. Pray that you might let the puzzle open your mind to be transformed by God’s love and grace today.
