13 If you refrain from trampling the sabbath, from pursuing your own interests on my holy day; if you call the sabbath a delight and the holy day of the Lord honorable; if you honor it, not going your own ways, serving your own interests, or pursuing your own affairs;
14 then you shall take delight in the Lord, and I will make you ride upon the heights of the earth; I will feed you with the heritage of your ancestor Jacob, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
Prayer Focus: The work of repairing is tiring work; it can be difficult and challenging. But the Lord reminds us that the work of repairing often is actually about rest. It is about Sabbath. It is about laying down the heavy burdens which break us. Pray that today you might embrace the Sabbath and rest. Pray that you shall delight in the Lord. Pray that you might rise upon the heights of the earth like a soaring bird. Pray that as we celebrate communion today, you might know the delight of repaired connections with Christ, with one another, and with your neighbors.
