Scripture – John 14:28-31

28 You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I am coming to you.’ If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I. 29 And now I have told you this before it occurs, so that when it does occur you may believe. 30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no power over me, 31 but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us be on our way.

Prayer Focus: It is hard to rejoice when one we love is going away. Even if we know that they are about to embark on an amazing journey or to do and know wonderful things. And yet, Jesus tells the disciples these things so that they may believe. Pray that you might put your trust in the promises of Jesus. Give thanks for your mother and others who have been like mothers for you. Pray that as we all take next steps of faith, life, and discipleship that we might continue to love the Lord and be protected from those who seek to do them harm. Together may we rise and be on our way. Thanks be to God!
