Scripture – Luke 15:31-32
31 Then the father said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours. 32 But we had to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and has come to life; he was lost and has been found.’ ”
Prayer Focus: We had to celebrate and rejoice. The Greek indicates there is no choice. Celebration is a necessity. On this Stewardship Commitment Sunday, we have to celebrate because God is still at work transforming hearts and lives in our midst. And we get to participate in God’s transformative work of love. The dead, now live! The lost are found. Thanks be to God!
