Scripture – Joel 2:30-31

30 I will show portents in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes.

Prayer Focus: There is a strand in scripture that indicates before God can set the world right, before the time of bountiful harvest, that the soil needs to be tilled and all those things working against God’s plans and purposes need to be cleared away. So, the great and terrible day of the Lord is a day of judgment. Before there can be resurrection, there must be death. What do you see passing away so that something new might be born? What are you willing to let go of so that God can create something new?
