Scripture – Luke 20:37-38

37 And the fact that the dead are raised Moses himself showed, in the story about the bush, where he speaks of the Lord as the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.

38 Now he is God not of the dead but of the living, for to him all of them are alive.”

Prayer Focus: Jesus points back to the Torah to indicate that the dead are indeed raised as God is revealed to Moses at the burning bush as the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. This is a present tense description of God despite the fact that these ancestors in the faith are long dead. So, God is the God of the living, here and now, and that life that really is life continues beyond our earthly graves. Pray that you might entrust those who have died to God’s eternal care and life. Pray that you might begin living today the life you want to live for eternity.
