Scripture – Luke 21:16-18

16 You will be betrayed even by parents and siblings, by relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death.

17 You will be hated by all because of my name.

18 But not a hair of your head will perish.

Prayer Focus: The persecution of those who follow Jesus will not only come from the political authorities. It will also come from one’s own family. No one wants to be hated. No one wants to be put to death. And yet, there is power that comes from speaking the truth. There is a peace that comes from our faithful witness. There is hope that comes from trusting this life is not the end. Pray that your power, peace, and trust in God’s future will give you courage to speak and act with faith today.
