23 Jesus went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and curing every disease and every sickness among the people.

Prayer Focus: With these four initial disciples, Jesus’ public ministry begins. They travel throughout Galilee with a ministry of teaching, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and curing every disease and sickness. As those who continue Jesus’ ministry today, we tend to focus on the teaching and the proclaiming good news parts of this verse. And yet, Jesus’ ministry is always marked by healing too. The healing is a physical and tangible sign that the kingdom of heaven is here. What physical and tangible signs do you see today that the kingdom of heaven is here? Pray that you might see and lift up these signs with the teaching and proclaiming ministry of the church.
