1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside still waters;
3 he restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths
for his name’s sake.
Prayer Focus: In our summer worship series, “Tending the Soul,” this week we seek to “be present,” first with Psalm 23. I often read this psalm and find comfort in the gifts that the shepherd provides. And yet, I am not sure that I allow myself to actually linger in those moments. If we lie down in green pastures, are we present in that moment or are we immediately ready to get up and see what is next? If we are led beside still waters, are we present in that moment or are we looking for where the current might take us next. Pray that you might linger in the moments that God provides you today. Pray that you might be present.
