    and out of Egypt I called my son.

Prayer Focus: This week we begin to turn in a new direction and will consider a passage from the prophet Hosea. Hosea is the first book in the collection of scripture known as the Minor Prophets. They are minor just in terms of their length. “Minor” has nothing to do with their importance or authenticity. We will be thinking about how this chapter in particular reveals the heart of God. And that heart is a faithful, committed, nurturing love for God’s people. That is how God loves you. That is how God loves the world. As the Gospel of John puts it, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son.” As you pray today, give thanks for God’s love.
