Scripture – Luke 24:13-14

13 Now on that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, 14 and talking with each other about all these things that had happened.

Prayer Focus: This week we begin our new Annual Vision for Ministry for the 2026-2027 church year. And that Annual Vision is “A Place at the Table.” For the next five weeks, through these daily devotions and Sunday sermons, we will be introducing this vision and inviting us to begin living into it. We begin with Jesus’ encounter with two disciples on the road to Emmaus. The story begins, “on the same day,” so this is an Easter Sunday story. Two disciples are walking toward Emmaus and talking about the last week in Jerusalem, apparently even the news of Jesus’ resurrection. What have you heard about Jesus in the last week? Pray that you might remember you are living in a post-resurrection world today.
