Scripture – Micah 6:1

1 Hear what the Lord says: Rise, plead your case before the mountains, and let the hills hear your voice.

Prayer Focus: The people are on trial. Earlier in Micah, God has outlined the charges against God’s people, 3:2- they send violence to the poor, 3:5- the political leaders take bribes, and 3:11- the religious leaders sell out for money. God has put Israel on trial because they have forgotten how they are called to live with God and how they are called to live in community with one another. If we were put on trial right now, what charges might be brought against us? In what ways have we forgotten how to live into God’s calling? Pray this week that we might recognize and confess what we have gotten wrong.
