Monday, January 25: Scripture – Mark 1:21-22
21 They went to Capernaum; and when the sabbath came, he entered the synagogue and taught. 22 They were astounded at his teaching, for he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
Prayer Focus: Jesus enters the synagogue on the sabbath and teaches. I wish we knew what his initial teachings were in the synagogue in Capernaum. It does not sound like he taught anything novel or creative that day. No, the people were astounded at Jesus’ teaching for he taught them as one having authority. Where do you find authority? Who speaks to you with authority? Pray for those who speak and teach with authority today.
