1 In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered.

2 This was the first registration and was taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria.

Prayer Focus: In those days …. In the days of an emperor and a governor and a census and a tax system …. This is where the gospel according to Luke begins the account of Jesus’ birth. Not in glory and honor, but in politics and economics. Could love come down even in the midst of these days with presidents, governors, authorities, and tax officials this year? Could love come down into these days, into this world, into your life and mine? Pray that love might come down one more time.
