Scripture – Philippians 2:1-2

1 If, then, there is any comfort in Christ, any consolation from love, any partnership in the Spirit, any tender affection and sympathy,

2 make my joy complete: be of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.

Prayer Focus: As we prepare for the fourth Sunday of Advent with our theme “Love Comes Down,” we turn to Paul’s letter to the Philippians. This may not be the text you first think of as you draw near to Christmas, but I hope by Sunday you’ll see the connection. Paul begins with a prayer that the Philippians might make his joy complete as they are of the same mind and have the same love. Paul is not asking them to all be exactly the same or to think identically. He asks that they might all be unified in the direction of their life and ministry. Our Annual Vision of Ministry, “We Love,” is one way we seek to bring a unifying vision to all that we do at Unity Presbyterian Church. In your prayers today, pray that we might be of the same mind and have the same love.
