Scripture – Jeremiah 32:9-10

9 And I bought the field at Anathoth from my cousin Hanamel and weighed out the silver to him, seventeen shekels of silver.

10 I signed the deed, sealed it, got witnesses, and weighed the silver on scales.

Prayer Focus: Jeremiah buys the field. He pays for it with seventeen shekels of silver. He signs the deed, seals it, gets witnesses, and weighs out the money. What could this be about? Jerusalem is about to fall, the king is about to be carted off into exile in Babylon, and Jeremiah is buying a field. Even in the midst of large, confusing, political and cultural events, the daily tasks of life continue. Pray that you might turn your attention from all that distracts you today so that you might focus on the one thing the Lord needs you to do today.
