Wednesday, January 25: Scripture – Matthew 5:11-12
11 “Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Prayer Focus: Do you really want to be counted among the prophets? Prophets tend to be reviled, persecuted, and have all kinds of evil uttered falsely against them. They are often killed! And yet, Jesus says that if these things happen to us on his account, we should rejoice and be glad, for our reward is great in heaven. Pray for the faith and the perseverance to speak a prophetic word. Pray that the reward will be present in this life as well as in the life to come.
