Scripture – Romans 14:5-6

5 Some judge one day to be better than another, while others judge all days to be alike. Let all be fully convinced in their own minds. 6 Those who observe the day, observe it for the Lord. Also those who eat, eat for the Lord, since they give thanks to God, while those who abstain, abstain for the Lord and give thanks to God.

Prayer Focus: Some judge one day to be better than another. Others judge all days to be alike. Some celebrate a particular day and others fail to mark it. This week we will remember the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Watch how this day is remembered. Is it used to justify violence and revenge? Is it a memorial to those who lost their lives? Is it a unifying event or a divisive one? How might we observe this anniversary “for the Lord?”
