Scripture – Matthew 4:16 – “the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and for those who sat in the region and shadow of death light has dawned.”

Prayer Focus: When the Light of Christ arrives, it shines on both the good and the bad.  The things we have gotten right, as well as the things we continue to get wrong.  The Light of Christ can be comforting and liberating, healing and humbling.  Not many of us would want a bright light shown on our most painful shortcomings.  And yet, it is through the illumination of Christ’s Light that we all might be free from the burdens that weight us down and prevent us from loving one another, and God, the way we are called to love.  Pray today that you might look for and welcome the Light of Christ in your life, so that all of God’s children, you included, might be free.
