Scripture – Jeremiah 1:10

10 See, today I appoint you over nations and over kingdoms,
to pluck up and to pull down,
to destroy and to overthrow,
to build and to plant.”

Prayer Focus: Transformation is not always easy and a life of faith for our confirmation students will not always be simple. In the same way we see that initially Jeremiah’s call sounds wonderful – God is with him and God puts words in his mouth. But the words God provides are to pluck up and pull down, to destroy and to overflow, and finally to build and to plant. We would much rather be builders and planters than destroyers and those who pluck up. As we celebrate with our Confirmation students today, pray that you might be willing to walk with them wherever their journey leads. Pray that we might all tell the truth and be honest in our celebration. Pray that we might witness not to ourselves but to Jesus Christ’s transforming grace and love.
