Scripture – Exodus 3:7-10

7 Then the Lord said, “I have observed the misery of my people who are in Egypt; I have heard their cry on account of their taskmasters. Indeed, I know their sufferings, 8 and I have come down to deliver them from the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the country of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. 9 The cry of the Israelites has now come to me; I have also seen how the Egyptians oppress them. 10 Now go, I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.”

Prayer Focus: The Lord shares a plan of deliverance with Moses. God has observed the misery of God’s people, has heard their cry, and knows their sufferings. So, God has come down to deliver them. The journey ahead is from misery to a land flowing with milk and honey. Not only is Moses’ own life being transformed; but God is also inviting Moses to participate in the transformation and liberation of God’s people. God desires freedom and liberation for all children of God. What cries of misery, oppression, and suffering are reaching God’s ears today? Where is God inviting you to join the story of liberation? Pray for the courage and faith to hear God’s call to you today.
