Scripture – 1 Timothy 6:11-12

11 But as for you, man of God, shun all this; pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and for which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Prayer Focus: Paul writes to Timothy, so uses “you, man of God,” but we can expand this charge to all of God’s children. Shun an inward focus on desire and love of money. Instead pursue qualities of a faithful life. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and have already made a confession about. Paul is fond of saying in his letters something like: “Be who you already are.” Pray that you might be who God has already created you to be today.
