106 I have sworn an oath and confirmed it,
    to observe your righteous ordinances.

107 I am severely afflicted;
    give me life, O Lord, according to your word.

108 Accept my offerings of praise, O Lord,
    and teach me your ordinances.

Prayer Focus: Psalm 119 is a long, long, long, meditation on the Torah or God’s law. Throughout each section different names for the law are used. In our verses today we find “ordinances” and “your word.” Ordinances are usually understood as various aspects of religious practice or rituals, included in the commands of God. How does dwelling in God’s Word give direction to the practices, rituals, and actions of your faith? Pray that you might see a faithful connection between the two today.
