109 I hold my life in my hand continually,
    but I do not forget your law.

110 The wicked have laid a snare for me,
    but I do not stray from your precepts.

111 Your decrees are my heritage forever;
    they are the joy of my heart.

112 I incline my heart to perform your statutes
    forever, to the end.

Prayer Focus: We find several more terms in our verses today: law, precepts, decrees, and statutes. But notice that all of them are related in these verses to actions or a way of life. Dwelling in God’s word is a wonderful gift and can allow us to draw near to God. And yet, if that dwelling leads merely to more study and contemplation, we find ourselves locked in our private rooms. Dwelling in God’s Word should lead to obedience and service. How will you love and serve others today based on the Word that lives in you?
