Building & Grounds Ministries

“Adopt a Piece of Unity” Team – Volunteer to participate in the “Adopt a Piece of Unity” program of the Building & Grounds Ministry Team. Volunteers will participate in the beautification of the church grounds by focusing on a particular area of the campus (of their choosing) for regular landscaping upkeep.

Building & Grounds Ministry Team – Mission:  To collaborate with church staff in the care of our Unity campus which encompasses more than 51,000 square feet among multiple buildings on a 6.5 acre site that includes a Columbarium. Special work teams are organized to tackle cleaning, painting, handyman type tasks, mulching, pruning and other related projects. Join us for fellowship and maintaining our campus for members, friends, and visitors.

Columbarium Care – The Columbarium Care team is a division of the Building & Grounds Ministry Team that is organized to water and care for plants in the Columbarium.

Design Team – Unity’s Design Team, a sub-committee of Building and Grounds, came together in 2019 with the goal of creating spaces that feel warm, welcoming, and deeply connected to the church’s history and mission. If you enjoy creativity, beauty, and working with your hands – or simply want to help make the church an inviting place for all—there is a place for you here. Examples of skills/interests for those considering serving on this team include, but are not limited to, electricians, artists, carpenters, seamstresses, upholsterers, and designers. Whether these skills are professional or novice level, your expertise is welcomed.

Landscaping Care – Prune, mulch, plant and weed around the campus.

Light General Maintenance – Volunteers are needed to tackle limited painting, carpentry, and simple repairs inside and outside of the church facilities.

Storm Prep/Recovery Team – Volunteers are needed to help get the campus ready for storms and to follow up afterwards.
