Scripture – Exodus 32:5-6
5 When Aaron saw this, he built an altar before it, and Aaron made a proclamation and said, “Tomorrow shall be a festival to the Lord.”
6 They rose early the next day and offered burnt offerings and brought sacrifices of well-being, and the people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to revel.
Prayer Focus: Apparently going all in on this idolatry, Aaron builds an altar and declares that tomorrow will be a festival. The people rise early, sacrifice, and then eat and drink. They start making a lot of noise. Think about how you would like to approach worship this Sunday? There is nothing wrong with a little joy and laughter and energy in worship, but where is it directed? Is it just for fun or does it lift up praise to God? Pray that you might prepare your heart and mind and voice for worship today.
