Wednesday, October 12: Scripture – Psalm 121:5-8
5 The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade at your right hand.
6 The sun shall not strike you by day nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.
8 The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time on and forevermore.
Prayer Focus: What does it mean that the Lord is our “keeper?” The psalmist says that the Lord will shade us from the heat of the sun and guard you in the cool of the night. The Lord will keep you from all evil. Really, from all evil? How could that be true? Despite the Lord’s presence and care, we still encounter evil in this world. Pray that while you are in the midst of evil, trials, or temptations, that the Lord will be with you. Do not stop in the midst. Do not get stuck. Keep going because the Lord will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time on and forever more.
