Prayer Focus: It is the day after the election. As I write these devotions (a week ahead of time), I don’t know if the outcome will be decided and reported or not. And yet, the sun will rise and a new day will begin. As Christ sacrificed himself for us on the cross, I pray that we might adopt a position of humility today. If your preferred candidate won – be humble, not boastful. Reach out to someone who seems distressed by the election results. If your preferred candidate lost – be humble and do not despair. Trust in the Lord and reach out to someone who seems pleased by the election results. As Christ has set us free, let’s together begin today to build a community of care, engagement, and action for the good of all.
