34 Then the king will say to those at his right hand, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world,
35 for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,
36 I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’
Prayer Focus: The criteria used for sorting in this parable is care for the hungry and thirsty, the stranger and the naked, the sick and the prisoner. How one participates in community and meets the needs of those who are lacking is evidence of being blessed by God. Pray that you might not regard blessings as things you have accumulated, but as opportunities God provides for you to help someone in need. Don’t delay – go ahead and help that person as you are able.
