Wednesday, May 26: Scripture – John 3:4-6

4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can anyone be born after having grown old? Can one enter a second time into the mother’s womb and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. 6 What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Prayer Focus: Being “born again” has become a way of talking about an evangelical conversion experience. Some denominations and churches require that one be born again – after all, Jesus said if you’re not you won’t see the kingdom. Other denominations and churches dismiss this kind of one time conversion and instead claim you must be born again and again and again and again as God continually works by grace in your life. Still others shift the language to being born from above. All agree that following Christ leads to something new. What is being born in your life today? Where is God at work? Give thanks to God for the new in your life today.
