6 So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, is this the time when you will restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 He replied, “It is not for you to know the times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority.
Prayer Focus: Jesus just told the disciples they were to wait for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Their response is to ask if that is how God will restore the kingdom to Israel. Even after the resurrection, the disciples are still looking for a political solution to the problems that plague the world. Where do you look for answers to the problems facing the world? Are you putting your trust in princes and kingdoms of the world or are you actively waiting for and working alongside the kingdom of God? Pray that you might trust God’s timing and authority for both today and the future are in God’s hands.
