Prayer Focus: All were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages. This was not of their own doing. Jesus had told them to go to Jerusalem and wait for the Holy Spirit, but I suspect they thought it would be nothing like this when the Spirit came. They are able to do things they cannot do on their own and as the text continues, through the Spirit’s gifts people from all over the known world are able to hear the gospel. Whatever language you speak today, pray that the Spirit will use it to help someone else hear the gospel.
